About 

Soumya Mukerji is an independent writer and senior editor probing convergent culture, arts, design, literature, climate, and humanities. She brings personal and poetic perspectives to storytelling through her transdisciplinary practice.

As a narrative journalist for almost two decades, Soumya’s work has appeared in prominent publications such as The Guardian, The Hindu Literary Review and Sunday Magazine, Travel & Leisure, and the MAP Academy Journal: Perspectives. She has previously held editorial positions at Hindustan Times, NDTV, and The Times of India, and also led progressive media houses with roles such as Managing Editor of STIRworld and Deputy Editor of Platform Magazine. In addition, she shares her knowledge as an educator and social impact mentor for reputable institutions. She received an honour at the Young Journalist Awards 2015, conferred by the Government of India.

Soumya's non-fiction work features reportage and conversations with nearly a hundred creative figures globally, offering intimate insights into contemporary culture.

Her artistic work and poetry has featured in journals such as The Bombay Literary Magazine and The Alipore Post. She has also been Guest Editor and Advisor to the literary journals, The Remnant Archive and Proseterity​​​

​

Soumya travels often in nature, and goes back home to poetry. Her first book of eco-poetics is forthcoming from Westland and represented by Siyahi.
