About
Soumya Mukerji is an independent writer and editor. Her practice of over 15 years straddles convergent and counter-cultures, global literature, multidisciplinary arts, design and digital creativity, human experience and social issues.
Soumya’s work aims to open journalism’s truths to the possibility of poetry, prose and personal memory.

Formerly Managing Editor of the global digital design and art platform, STIR, and Deputy Editor of Platform Magazine for progressive culture, her journalistic work has also appeared across major media such as The Guardian, The Hindu Sunday Magazine and Literary Review, Hindustan Times, NDTV and the Times of India’s new-media channels. She received an honour at the Young Journalist Awards 2015, conferred by the Government of India.

Her artistic work and poetry has featured in journals such as The Bombay Literary Magazine and The Alipore Post. She has also been Guest Editor and Advisor to the literary journals, The Remnant Archive and Proseterity, and held sessions in Literary and New Media Journalism with institutions such as the Christ University, Bangalore, and the University of Delhi.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, and a Master’s degree in English Literature.
